We currently have a vacancy for a community member for our Local School Committee (LSC). Members would join our governance community and support our school.
The main purpose of the LSC on behalf of the Beckfoot Trust Board is to take responsibility for challenging the Headteacher to account for ensuring the following areas are a priority of school life and ensure continuous improvement.
• Educational standards
• Health and Safety audits and key data/information
• Safeguarding local protocols, audits and data
• Effective community and family engagement
• Staff engagement, welfare and wellbeing
• Student engagement, welfare and wellbeing
The Local School Committee members perform governance functions and are therefore required to undertake a DBS check (Disclosure & Barring Service) to ensure suitability to work in school and are listed on Get Information about Schools (GIAS).
This work provides an opportunity to engage with our school with purpose, humility and integrity and we are looking for people who can support us in our mission to create remarkable schools where no child is left behind.
Meetings take place 4 times a year and we provide training to our governance community on Trust initiatives and statutory responsibilities.
If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Kayleigh Tinsley, our LSC Clerk on 01274 564879 to arrange a discussion and find out more about the role.
